Blogging Ideas
Here are some blogging ideas for those days when your mind just goes blank. If you have any more ideas, please email me or leave a comment. Enjoy!
“Evergreen” Posts: These are posts that you write whenever, but you save them for one of those blank-thought days. These posts can be posted whenever, but they are the types that are interesting no matter what.
Ask a Friend to Blog: This is where you ask a friend or reader to write a blog for you. After you get it, you can check it over and then post it.
Recycle Post: If you have a lot of posts, or just some really good ones, then use one that was posted a while back. New readers will enjoy something they missed, and your regular readers might get something from a second-time-around.
Hold Contest: Ah, yes, the good old contest. This will often draw more readers than your posts. Use these as something to lure people to your blog, and then they will see your blog, and hopefully read it.
Post Photo: The old adage applies here: “A picture is worth 1,000 words.” It most certainly does.
Post on Books: You can write a post on a book you have read, or are currently reading. This does not have to be a book report. This can simply be on what you like about the book, what it is about, or just whatever about it.
Favorite Recipe Post: This is a post that shows readers how to make something from one of your favorite recipes. A lot of people like food (don’t you?) and appealing to the appetite will most likely draw readers.
Record Podcast: This can be an audio or video podcast that readers can listen to/watch. This often draws readers, and also lets readers take it with them if they have an IPod or something like that.
Do an Interview: Do an interview with somebody you know (or if you’re daring, somebody you don’t). If done right, this will draw readers like a bee to honey. Even if it doesn’t, it will still be cool.
Do a Quiz: I’ve found that readers love doing a quiz – actually, they like anything that is interactive – polls, quizzes, contests – you get the idea...
Ask for Suggestions from Your Readers: Asking your readers what they’re interested in will give you a better idea of what they like. Specific stuff is what is great to get here. Given better ideas, you will make your blog more interesting and fun...
Enjoy,
The Editors of the LCCW :)
