Capture the Flag Rules

Capture the Flag is a fun game where there are two teams and a playing field that is divided into two parts, right down the middle. The playing field has many obstacles and things to hide behind scattered all over. The object of the game is to grab the other team’s “flag” and bring it back on your side of the field without getting tagged by the opposite team. If you go onto their side of the playing field then you are “fair game” (they can tag you and take you prisoner). If one of the opposite team’s members comes on your side of the line, then you can tag them and take them prisoner. The jail is located near the back of your field; this is where you store the other team’s members when you take them prisoner. If you have been taken prisoner then the only way to get out is to have one of your team’s members come and tag you. If they make it successfully then you both get a free walk back into your territory. If, however, they get tagged then they have to join you in prison! If you make a run for their flag and get to it without being tagged, you can do one of two things: you can either grab it and run back to your side (hopefully without being tagged), or you can stay by it and wait for a good opportunity to run back with it. If you choose to stay with the flag, then do not touch it until you are ready to run back, because as soon as you touch the flag then the other team can tag you. The “safe zone” is normally 2-4 feet. That is, you can stay within 2-4 feet of the flag and be safe. But as soon as you touch the flag OR leave that area, you are fair game. The rules are listed below (but feel free to customize):
1. At the beginning of the game, both teams place their flags and stay by it until the game starts.
2. Players may not communicate with anything but their speech and body: No cell phones or any other form of communication allowed!!!
3. Players that are in prison may not tell their team what is happening or call out for rescue.
4. Teams must place their flag on the ground and it must be accessible from two or more directions (no putting it in a dead-end area).
5. The prison must be accessible from two directions as well.
6. If any player does not know where the centerline is due to not listening and they get caught, they get taken to jail. Players are responsible for listening to these rules and obeying them. Violators will be prosecuted (taken to jail).
7. People who are on the defense part of their team MUST wander around. They may not stand in one place within 10 feet of the flag (or prisoners) unless they are just walking by it.
8. Both teams get shown where the opposite team’s flag is BEFORE the game starts.
9. The maximum number of people who can be in the jail at any time (depending on the number of players) is 2-10. This number gets set before the game starts and must be agreed upon by both teams. If the maximum number is 3, for example, then if there are 3 in the jail and another one gets caught, then the player that just got caught goes to jail, but one of the others gets let out. This player must return to their side of the field before anything else.
10. At the beginning of the game, two team leaders are picked and they decide who they want on their team. Team leader A picks one person, then Team leader B picks one. This continues until all players have been selected.
11. If one player gets the other team’s flag but gets caught upon trying to take it back to their side, then the flag gets put back and that player goes to jail.
12. Players who have the other team’s flag may NOT throw it over the line. They must take it in their hands over the line with them. If the player who has the flag drops it when trying to return to their side, then the flag gets put back, BUT the player gets a free walk back.
13. If one player calls anybody else a bad name or swears, then they get taken to jail; if they do it again, they get put out of the game.
14. No “puppy-guarding” is allowed. In other words, no staying within 10’ of your team’s prison IF there are any enemies’s in prison. Also, no going within 10’ of your flag (unless an enemy is coming, or if you are just walking past it).
15. Players who are in jail can hold hands and stretch out to make it easier for their team to rescue them!
16. These rules must be read before the game starts, and all players must acknowledge them.

These may be different from your rules. If so, please let all players know in advance, before the game starts! Have fun and enjoy!
If any of you have anything of Legos or cats, please send it in. The more contributed each week, the more interesting it will be, more subscribers, and it will show everyone who or what your cat/creation is. We love getting pictures and info about things. If you have any questions about us, or just anything, drop us a line... Also, please email me or AZ and tell us your name (if you're a subscriber) and whether you like just cats, just Legos, or Cats and Legos. I know I have a poll on that but I need your name and what you like... By the way, if everyone could get a Skype, that would be great. Skype is a thing so you can chat, talk, and video call anyone on Skype for FREE. Follow this link to get started...

Hello!

Hello everyone! All friends and bell choir members! I'm not sure if any of you are/were a assistant editor to a friend's e-magazine, but it's both fun and challenging. As many of you know, the Lego and Cat Crazy Weekly is a e-mag, is about Legos and Cats, and comes out weekly (duh). This is a big magazine as it is, but we are adding more and more things to it every week! This is a free emag, and so far everybody (so far as I know) has been satisfied and enjoys it. Go to my voting section and vote there on questions about the LCCW. If any of you have something you want to contribute, then send it to me if it's on: NXT Stuff, NXT Programming, or Lego Technic. If it is something else, send it to AZ. My two emails are listed below, so if you don't know AZ's, then send it to me and I'll forward it to him. Thanks everybody, and have a good one! Don't forget to check out the rest of the stuff here...
